Michelin starred Ukiyo (translated literally as “the floating world” – living in the moment, detached from the bothers of life) presents a culinary workshop or atelier, connected by a tiny walkway to our Michelin starred Jewel Bako Sushi, just next door.
The Chef, Maria José Yáñez Jaramillo, is a native of Toluca, Mexico. Her experience and travels include The French Laundry, Jose Andrés, Jean-Georges and Hisa-Franko in Slovenia.
Maria José offers a menu of French cuisine at its base, with Japanese and global inflections out of the small, open kitchen. The setting is an intimate Chef’s counter of only 18 seats.
On Tuesday through Thursday, Restaurant Ukiyo offers both our full à la carte menu and Chef's Tasting Menu. On Friday and Saturday, we offer the Chef's Tasting Menu exclusively.
